AP Studio Art is a self-guided, college level art course. The course allows each artist to explore cocpets and ideas, which express individual style and technique. Successful completion of the AP Studio Art portfolio submission results in college credit. Therefore, there is not an emphasis on learning technique; one should already be well versed in a specific genre, medium, and/or style. Each artist will develop 3 portfolios, a portfolio based on a concentration, another that demonstrates breadth and a portfolio demonstrating quality. A successful AP student is one who is truly committed to learning and succeeding. The course is rigorous and requires the completion of approximately 1 work of art every one-and-a-half weeks
